In the backdrop of instructions of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Government of Pakistan, through the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Islamabad letter, 15th March 2024 was observed as Youm-e-Tahaffuz-e-Namoos e Risalat at University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore. In this regard Khateebs of university mosques delivered the Jumma Sermon on the topic. After which an awareness walk was also arranged from UET Jamia Masjid to Girls Student Service Cafeteria (GSSC) as part of the awareness campaign regarding prevention of blasphemous material and activities on social media. After which Deans of all faculties, Chairpersons of various departments, Registrar Muhammad Asif and Senior Warden Dr. Muhammad Mushtaq also attended an online seminar along with the Vice Chancellor UET Prof. Dr. Nasir Hayat where Chairman HEC, Advocate Rao Abdur Raheem Legal Commission on Blasphemy Pakistan and Prof. Dr. Zia ul Haque Director General Islamic Research Institute, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) addressed the participants.
