UTP, Malaysia Signs MOU with UET, Applauds UET’s Lab Resources

Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP), a leading university of Malaysia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with University of Engineering & Technology (UET) Lahore to promote mutual research and academic collaboration in various fields. The UTP is one of those universities of the World that have the largest number of PhD alumni in Pakistan. The UTP has sponsored around 450 PhD students from Pakistan since 2008, one of the biggest scholarship programs of any overseas university. Both UTP and UET will collaborate in joint theses supervision, faculty and student exchange and collaborative development of various academic programs.

Speaking at the occasion, Professor Dr. Syed Mansoor Sarwar, Vice-Chancellor UET expressed his hopes that this MoU will go long way to the mutual progress through the development of new research and academic programs. He urged the faculty and students of the UET to collaborate effectively by sharing research and academics in various modes and get maximum benefits of UTP’s rich experience and resources. Reciprocating to the goodwill gestures of the Vice- Chancellor, Professor Dr. Faiz Ahmad, representative and senior faculty of UTP, expressed confidence in the successful execution of this MoU and vowed to the tangible benefits that both UTP and UET could get through this collaboration. He announced 30 internships annually for UET students at UTP. He appreciated the efforts of Dr. Muhammad Ayoub (UTP) in the realization of this MoU.

The delegation lauded the research facilities of the UET and termed these a rich resource of research particularly mentioning the Polymer and Chemical Engineering labs. Among others, Prof. Dr. Naveed Ramzan, Dean Faculty of Chemical, Metallurgical & Polymer Engineering, Chairpersons of the respective departments, senior faculty members, Director ORIC and Registrar attended the ceremony that was held in the Vice-Chancellor’s office, UET Lahore.

UET Lahore
