UET Alumnus to bear renovation cost of Umar Hall

University of Engineering Technology (UET) Lahore organized Alumni dinner for the reconstruction of UET Umar Hall. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Aziz Akbar, all chairmen from various departments, Deans, Chairman Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) Engr. Jawed Salim Qureshi, Chairman LESCO Mujahid Pervaz Chattah, Dr. Ahmad bilal, Hamid Saeed and other dignitaries and Alumni attended the event. While addressing the audience Prof. Dr. Aziz Akbar said, “Due to reduction of grant from Higher Education Commission (HEC) and limited resources the ancient Umar Hall of University is facing deterioration. In this context our Alumni will have to come forward and take part in the reconstruction of Umar Hall to return it into its past glory. The estimated cost for the reconstruction and renovation of Umar Hall will be almost 2 billion which must be fulfilled with the help of Alumni.” Alumnus of UET has announced the contribution of the total cost which is estimated 2 billion. Vice Chancellor UET Prof. Dr. Aziz Akbar appreciated the spirit of Alumni Association and gave tribute to their efforts. At the end of the event guests were served with the traditional mess meal. After the Dinner all alumnus visited Umar Hall and then they took selfies in front of their previous rooms for the memory.
