UET Lahore Organizes Awareness Walk on World Environment Day
To mark World Environment Day, the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore organized an awareness walk to promote environmental consciousness and sustainable practices. The walk commenced from Lalazar Ground and was led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir, (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz).
The event was attended by Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Nasir Hayat, Registrar Muhammad Asif, deans of various faculties, heads of departments, faculty members, staff, and a large number of students.
The purpose of the walk was to raise awareness about environmental protection, the reduction of pollution, the promotion of tree plantation, and the adoption of a sustainable lifestyle. Participants expressed their commitment to embracing environmentally responsible practices and keeping their surroundings clean and green.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir said that environmental protection is one of the most pressing needs of the present era, and educational institutions have a vital role to play in fostering environmental awareness among the younger generation. He urged students to actively participate in tree plantation campaigns, use energy efficiently, and contribute to maintaining a pollution-free environment.
At the end of the walk, participants reaffirmed their commitment to fulfilling their responsibilities toward environmental conservation and contributing to the vision of a greener and more sustainable Pakistan.
