Former Pakistan hockey player Khawaja Junaid met with the Vice Chancellor of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore, Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir TI where detailed discussions were held on the revival of sports activities at the university, with special focus on the promotion of hockey.

During the meeting, the Vice Chancellor briefed Khawaja Junaid on the steps already taken and future initiatives planned for the development of sports at UET. He stated that the university is making serious efforts to lay a synthetic (astro) turf and to develop an international-standard hockey ground to promote the game among students.

Khawaja Junaid appreciated the talent present at UET and lauded the university’s sports activities. He expressed confidence that the talented players emerging from UET would benefit the country by representing Pakistan at international competitions, thereby enhancing the country’s image and bringing pride to the nation.

Both sides emphasized the importance of institutional support for sports to nurture young talent and contribute positively to national and international sports arenas.
