An interactive seminar session with representatives of the Pakistan Air Force was successfully organized by the Career Counseling Office, UET Lahore, at the Chemical Engineering Seminar Hall.
The session proved to be highly informative and inspiring for students and faculty members from various engineering and non-engineering disciplines. The main focus of the seminar was to create awareness regarding career opportunities in the Pakistan Air Force, particularly the role and career pathway of an Education Officer in PAF.

The seminar commenced with welcome remarks by Prof. Dr. Abdul Sattar Shakir, who highlighted the importance of such technical engagements in enhancing the professional knowledge of students and faculty members. During his presentation, Engr. Kibria provided a comprehensive overview of structural cracking caused by geotechnical factors, including differential settlement, expansive soils, collapsible soils, liquefaction, slope movements, and seismic effects. He emphasized the importance of correctly identifying the causes of cracks before undertaking repair and mitigation measures and shared several practical case studies from engineering projects across Pakistan.

The speaker also discussed methods for crack monitoring, investigation, and rehabilitation, while highlighting the role of proper geotechnical investigations and sound engineering judgment in preventing structural distress. The presentation was followed by an interactive question-and-answer session in which faculty members and students actively participated.
At the conclusion of the event, Prof. Dr. Hassan Mujtaba presented a commemorative shield to the guest speaker as a token of appreciation. The seminar was attended by a large number of faculty members and students, who greatly benefited from the speaker's extensive professional experience and practical insights into geotechnical engineering.
