AWS Community Day 2022 organized for the first time in Pakistan by UET ACM Student Chapter
AWS Community Day 2022 was organized for the first time in Pakistan by UET ACM Student Chapter on Saturday, 1st October 2022 at the University of Engineering and Technology Lahore. It featured technical discussions and panel talks by expert AWS users and industry leaders from around the world. It was a free full-day event showcasing some of our local community speakers, influencers, and innovators; They covered topics ranging from Machine Learning, Serverless, Containers, VR, and more. The purpose of the event was to inspire, educate and bring developer and IT communities together through technical discussions, competitions, and plenty of opportunities for networking with AWS experts. This year, we had accomplished speakers from all over Pakistan including Hameed Ullah Khan (CEO at SUDO), Salman Ahmad (CTO at Rayn), Mohsin Aziz (Partner at GoSaaS Inc.), and many more. Our guests were invited from all over the world including Danny Ong, Marcella Tang, Shahzad Khan, Phone Myint Kyaw, and Darren Yeo. The event started with a formal opening ceremony which consisted of an opening speech from Mr. Hameed Ullah Khan (CEO at SUDO) and Mr. Hassan Ramsay (Managing Partner at GoSaaS). The event was then divided into two tracks, one taking place in the chemical seminar hall and the other in the transportation seminar hall. Track 1 consisted of a panel talk on Accelerating Cloud Adoption across Pakistan with Aftab Ahmad as the Moderator and Salman Ahmed, Haseeb Khan, Mohsin Aziz, and Shoaib Malik as the panelists. Track 2 was taking place simultaneously with another Panel talk on AWS Community Builders. The stage was then handed over to Mr. Hameed Ullah Khan who shared his knowledge on AWS Well-Architected for startups. Lunch was served to all the participants and the guests during the networking break. Every speaker had a Q/A session with all the participants during the talks to increase interactivity. The volunteers were also taking feedback from the guests and speakers on the event, which was very positive. After this, the talks continued with esteemed speakers on the stage. The event ended with an award ceremony for all the speakers, guests, and volunteers.
