Muhammad Shahzad ( Assistant Professor )
Dr. Muhammad Shahzad graduated in Mining Engineering with distinction from UET Lahore in 2009. He completed his MS and Ph.D. from the same institute in 2012 and 2019 respectively. His research work was focused on the characterization and processing of Punjab (Pakistan) coal with an aim to identify the best processing strategy to clean Punjab coal. He has been actively involved in full-time mining, coal preparation, and mineral processing related teaching and research since his joining at Mining Engineering Department, University of Engineering and Technology Lahore in 2009. He is currently working as Assistant Professor at the same institute. He has published a good number of research articles in both international and national well-reputed journals. He has been a member of various committees of the department including QEC, Purchase committee, and a member of the library committee of UET Lahore. Presently, he is the semester coordinator of both undergraduate and postgraduate programs of the department. He served as Focal Person for PM Laptop Scheme phase II (2015-16) for the faculty of earth sciences and engineering, UET Lahore. He participated as a member in the revision of the curriculum for DAE in Mining organized by the National Vocational & Training Commission of Pakistan from 05-11-2021 to 07-11-2021. He was awarded an Innovation Award in the 3rd Invention to Innovation Summit, 2014 held in the University of Punjab on 19-20 March for his design of a prototype coal cutter.
