The University of Engineering and Technology Lahore and Amal Academy signed a Memorandum of Understanding to run Amal Academy’s Career Prep Fellowship on campus at UET on a recurring basis.UET Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid, and Amal Academy CEO, Benje Williams, signed the MOU in the presence of leadership from both institutions. They also discussed the idea of integrating the fellowship curriculum into standard UET course offerings, and explored other areas of collaboration.
The Amal Career-Prep Fellowship is a 3-month leadership program, initially funded out of Stanford University, focused on developing the job skills (communication, interviewing, CV writing, etc.) and mindsets (purpose, self-efficacy, etc.) of students entering the job market. Amal originally launched the Fellowship in collaboration with the Punjab Education Endowment Fund (PEEF), and has now trained over 1,500 fellows (including 250+ UET students), over 80% of whom have been able to secure quality jobs within 3 months of completing the fellowship.
This MOU will result in a convenient and consistent venue for students from UET and nearby universities to participate in the Fellowship. The next Amal Fellowship will start in mid-October and will be offered at UET and other institutions in Lahore and Faisalabad. Amal Academy is currently accepting applications.
