“Clean and Green Pakistan” drive starts at UET KSK Campus

University of Engineering & Technology (UET) Lahore, in pursuance of Prime Minister’s “Clean and Green Pakistan” Campaign, launched plantation drive in Kala Shah Kaku Campus, followed by. In this regard more than 3000 plants had been planted in the University KSK Campus and the target of 50000 plants will be achieved soon by planting trees in other campuses. The purpose of this campaign was to provide the students a healthy and clean environment by making the campus green. 

At this occasion an awareness walk, regarding clean and green campaign, was also organized. The purpose of this walk was to provide the awareness about climate changes and importance of foresting. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid, Director Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Asif Ali Qaiser, Public Relations Officer Ali Ashraf, Dr. Neelum Naz, Chairman Mathematics Department Prof. Dr. Mushtaq, Chairman Mechanical Engineering Department Prof. Dr. Nasir Hayyat, Dr. Tanveer, Campus Coordinator and a large number of students and faculty members took part in this drive by planting a tree by their names.

At this occasion Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid said, “We know how trees keep temperature in control and the significance of planting trees in the country is huge.”. He further shed light on how climate change and global warming are grave issues that used to be tackled accordingly. He said, “as a part of the campaign all our campuses will contribute to beautify the university campuses by their input.” He emphasized to promote the forestation for keeping environment clean and pleasant. He urged faculty members and students to ensure conservation of each tree they plant. Before this more than 10000 trees were also planted.
