For award of Allama Iqbal Shield, Debating Contest is held by Higher Education Commission (HEC) at Islamabad every year. Before the said event, a contest is also being held at Regional Level on 8-11-2008 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in which 25 teams for Urdu Debate and 24 teams for English Debate are participating from the various universities of Punjab Province.
